Pay button
Put a TigerPay pay button on any web page. The button is a link to one of your payment links, so TigerPay fixes the amount and customers cannot change it. No API key and no server code.
What it looks like#
Get the code#
- In your TigerPay dashboard, open Online payments and click Create payment link.
- Enter the amount and what it is for. You can also add your own reference, a page to show after payment, and a limit on how many times it can be paid.
- Click Copy pay button code.
- Paste the code where you want the button. On Wix use an Embed HTML element, on Webflow an Embed element, and on WordPress a Custom HTML block.
The code looks like this:
<a href="https://api.tigerpay.app/l/plink_XXX" class="tigerpay-button" data-tigerpay-button>Pay AED 150.00</a>
<script src="https://docs.tigerpay.app/js/button.js" async></script>
For the dark button, add data-theme="dark" to the link:
<a href="https://api.tigerpay.app/l/plink_XXX" class="tigerpay-button" data-tigerpay-button data-theme="dark">Pay AED 150.00</a>
How it works#
- Customer
Clicks the button. It is a normal link to your payment link.
- TigerPay
Shows the amount and what it is for, and takes the customer to the secure TigerPay payment page.
- Customer
Pays by card. Afterwards they see your thank-you page, or the TigerPay one if you did not set a page.
- You
See the payment under Online payments, with the link's reference. If you use webhooks, you also get
payment.succeeded.
Good to know#
- The amount comes from the link. The button text is yours, so write the same amount as on the link. Changing the text does not change the price.
- One script per page is enough, however many buttons you have. Each button needs its own payment link if the amounts differ.
- It works without the script. If the script is blocked or slow, the button shows as a plain link and still opens the payment page.
- Turning a link off in the dashboard stops new payments. Customers who click the button see that the link is no longer active.
- Test links (made in test mode) never charge a real card. Use one to try the button before you put a live link on your site.
Limiting how many people can pay#
When you create a payment link you can set how many times it can be paid, for example 20 places in a class.
- Only completed payments count. Someone who opens the payment page and leaves, or whose card is declined, does not use up a place.
- Nobody waits for anybody. Anyone can pay while places are left, even if other people are paying at the same moment.
- When the places are paid, the link closes. Customers who click it see This payment link has reached its limit.
- Sometimes one or two extra people pay. If several people are paying for the last place at the same time, they can all finish. Their payments go through as normal. The link shows how many payments went over your limit, so you can refund them if you want.
- A refund does not free a place. The payment still counts towards the limit.
In the API, use_count on the payment link is the number of completed payments and over_limit is how many went over max_uses.
Want a different look?
Leave out the script and style the link yourself. The link alone is all a customer needs to pay.
